Bills & Recurring

Automatic recurring transaction detection, bill tracking, and upcoming payment reminders.

Overview

Bills & Recurring automatically detects repeating transactions (subscriptions, rent, utilities, etc.) and presents them as trackable recurring items. You can also create recurring entries manually.

Automatic Detection

The detection engine analyzes your transaction history to find patterns using three tunable parameters (Settings → Recurring Detection):

  • Date Deviation Days — How many days apart transactions can be and still count as the same recurrence.
  • Amount Deviation % — Tolerance for amount variations between occurrences.
  • Name Match Score — Fuzzy-match threshold for merchant name similarity.

Managing Bills

  • Bills are displayed as cards with next due date, amount, frequency, and category.
  • View all matched transactions for any bill.
  • Manually create, edit, or delete bills.
  • Each bill has a frequency (weekly, biweekly, monthly, quarterly, annual) and a category.
  • Subscriptions Filter: Use the filter at the top of the Bills page to view only items marked as subscriptions. Subscriptions are a subcategory of bills and can be reviewed separately.
  • Empty State: When you have no bills, you'll see a friendly message and a button to add your first bill. Click "Add Bill" to start tracking your recurring payments.
  • New: You can now designate a recurring as a subscription using the toggle when confirming or adding a recurring. Subscriptions are visually marked and can be filtered or reviewed separately.

Notifications

  • Recurring Found — Alert when a new recurring pattern is detected.
  • Subscription Check — Periodic reminder to review only items marked as subscriptions for unused services. (Bills that are not subscriptions will not trigger this email.)

Both are configurable in Settings → In-App Notifications.
