Budgeting
Set spending limits by category and track your progress in real time.
Overview
Budgeting is a core feature that lets you set monthly spending limits on one or more categories. Budgets track actual spending in real time and alert you when you approach or exceed your limits.
Creating a Budget
- Give your budget a name (e.g., "Groceries", "Entertainment").
- Set a monthly spending limit.
- Select one or more categories to track.
- Optionally configure custom notification thresholds in the Advanced section.
How Spending Is Calculated
Spending is the sum of all transactions in the linked categories for the current calendar month. Both Plaid-synced and manual transactions are included.
Progress is shown as a colored bar — green when under budget, yellow at the warning threshold, and red when exceeded.
