Overview

The TrendingBudget CRM extends the existing customer and invoicing features into a lightweight relationship management system designed for freelancers and small businesses.

It includes a customer activity log, deal pipeline, task management, and a business dashboard — all integrated with your existing invoices.

Customers

Each customer has a detail page showing:

  • Contact info — Company name, contact person, email, phone, and address.
  • Activity timeline — A chronological log of calls, emails, meetings, and notes.
  • Deals — Active deals associated with this customer.
  • Invoices — All invoices sent to this customer with status filtering.
  • Estimates — All estimates sent to this customer with status and total.
  • Timeline — A visual vertical timeline of all estimates, invoices, and activities in chronological order. Includes an Upcoming section that lists future interactions — such as payment reminder emails sent to the customer, follow-up reminders, and task due dates — each labelled with a badge showing whether it will trigger an Email to customer or an Internal reminder.
  • Tasks — Follow-ups and to-dos linked to this customer.

Activity Log

Track every interaction with your customers:

  • Call — Phone conversations and their outcomes.
  • Email — Important email exchanges worth noting.
  • Meeting — In-person or virtual meetings.
  • Note — General notes or observations.

Each activity has a date, subject, optional description, and optional follow-up date. Activities appear in reverse chronological order on the customer detail page.

Deal Pipeline

Track deals through a visual Kanban-style pipeline with six stages:

  • Lead — Initial interest or inquiry.
  • Contacted — You've reached out to the prospect.
  • Proposal — A proposal or quote has been sent.
  • Negotiation — Terms are being discussed.
  • Won — Deal closed successfully.
  • Lost — Deal did not close.

Each deal has a title, customer, monetary value, expected close date, and notes. Move deals between stages by clicking stage buttons on each deal card.

Tasks

Standalone tasks for tracking follow-ups and to-dos:

  • Tasks can be linked to a customer, a deal, or standalone.
  • Each task has a title, optional description, due date, and priority (Low, Medium, High).
  • Filter by open, completed, or all tasks.
  • Overdue tasks are highlighted with a warning indicator.

Business Dashboard

The business overview page shows key metrics at a glance:

  • Total customers, pipeline value, revenue, and outstanding invoices.
  • Open and overdue task counts.
  • Pipeline breakdown by stage with deal counts and values.
  • Quick links to Customers, Estimates, Pipeline, and Tasks.
